CBCG: Interest rates decline 

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The weighted average effective interest rate on total approved loans, which includes all associated costs, decreased by 0.03 percentage point in April to 6.1 percent. 

 

According to statistics published by the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) in its Bulletin, the weighted average nominal interest rate decreased by 0.03 point to 5.61 percent in this period.

 

In April, the effective and nominal rate interest rates for newly granted loans decreased by 0.02 and 0.04 points to 5.75 percent and 5.29 percent, respectively.  

 

In this period, the effective interest rate of microfinance institutions (MFIs) declined by 0.49 points to 17.8 percent, while the nominal one decreased by 0.41 points to 16.21 percent.

 

The weighted average effective interest rate offered by the MFIs for newly granted loans increased by 0.52 percentage points to 14.35 percent, while the nominal one rose by 0.43 points to 13.27 percent. 

 

Compared with March, the weighted average effective interest rate on deposits remained at 0.31 percent in April.
